Moorpark, CA — Playmaker Sports successfully hosted its third annual Playmakers Cup this past weekend at Arroyo Vista Park. The tournament welcomed 96 teams, held over 150 matches, and had thousands of players, coaches, and families in attendance for one of its most successful tournaments to date. The event showcased 19 competitive brackets, each crowning a champion and finalist. Champions received custom team trophies and medals, finalists earned medals, and all participants received a commemorative Playmaker Sports participation pin.

This year’s Playmakers Cup marked a major milestone with the official launch of the Playmaker Sports Tournament App, giving teams access to live schedules, standings, brackets, field maps, and real-time event updates. The app introduced two exclusive features—“Follow My Team” and “Follow My Club”—allowing families to track their team or club throughout the weekend and receive instant notifications. The platform significantly enhanced communication and the overall tournament experience and will now be a standard element of all future Playmaker Sports events.
Tournament operations were supported by certified athletic trainers stationed at all three information tents and a dedicated Playmaker Sports staff managing logistics across 14 fields. The tournament also benefited from the commitment and professionalism of multiple referee crews who worked matches across the weekend. Each official was recognized with a custom Playmaker Sports referee coin as a token of appreciation.

Championship Sunday featured a special guest appearance by Martín “El Pulpo” Zúñiga, former Chivas de Guadalajara and Mexico National Team goalkeeper. Zúñiga spent time engaging with participants—taking photos, signing autographs, handing out trophies, and offering encouraging words to upcoming players and teams. His graciousness and professionalism created unforgettable moments for everyone in attendance.
A professional photographer was also on-site throughout the event, capturing high-quality photos and videos of players, teams, and championship moments. All captured content will be shared on Playmaker Sports’ social media pages, and participants are encouraged to follow along to see the full highlights.

The atmosphere was elevated by a vibrant mix of vendors and food options. In the Kitchen served a wide variety of items including burgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, chili fries, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pizza, coffee, shaved ice, popcorn, cupcakes, and pastries. Soccer City provided custom apparel, including exclusive Playmaker Sports merchandise, while additional vendors offered jerseys, souvenirs, grip socks, and specialty soccer goods. Music played across the venue, bringing energy and excitement to the environment for players and families.
Playmaker Sports continued its commitment to elevating the event experience with expanded field décor, including new flags, CORA boards, and additional venue signage showcasing Playmaker branding throughout Arroyo Vista Park. Amenities were also improved with additional serviced restrooms and enhanced event layout. More visual elements, decorations, and player-focused features are already planned for the next tournament.
The organization now turns its attention to its next major event, Winter Fest, taking place February 28 – March 1, 2026 at Central Park in Santa Clarita.
