Winter Fest 2026 Debuts New Winter-Themed Tournament Experience

Playmaker Sports proudly hosted it second Winter Fest at Central Park, welcoming over 70 teams for a full weekend of competitive youth soccer and community engagement. Teams from across the region gathered in Santa Clarita to compete in a tournament that showcased competitive matches as well as the growth and professionalism of Playmaker Sports events.

Throughout the weekend, teams competed across 16 competitive brackets, ultimately crowning 16 champions and 16 finalists after an exciting slate of matches. In total, over 100 games were played across the park’s fields, providing players with meaningful competition and memorable tournament moments.

A major highlight of Winter Fest 2026 was the introduction of a brand-new themed awards set, something Playmaker Sports had never done before. For the first time, the tournament featured Winter Fest themed pins, medals, and trophies all designed in blue winter-inspired colors. The special edition design gave the tournament its own unique identity and added excitement for players competing for the awards.

Every participant in the tournament received a Playmaker Sports Winter Fest pin as a commemorative item for taking part in the event. Finalists and champions were awarded custom Winter Fest themed medals, while each championship team also received a team trophy designed specifically for the Winter Fest tournament. The winter theme was carried throughout the awards presentation and post-game celebrations.

The Winter Fest look extended beyond the awards themselves. For the first time, Playmaker Sports also introduced custom Winter Fest themed backdrops and championship/finalist photo signs using the same blue color palette. Teams celebrated their victories in front of these backdrops, creating memorable photo opportunities for players, coaches, and families.

Across the venue, Playmaker Sports continued to invest in creating a professional tournament atmosphere. CORA boards and Playmaker Sports flags were placed around the fields, helping build a strong visual presence throughout the park and enhancing the tournament environment as teams walked between games and warm-ups.

Player safety remained a priority throughout the event as always. Certified athletic trainers were stationed on site during the entire tournament, providing medical support for players when needed. The athletic trainers were equipped with medical tables, ice, and full first aid kits, allowing them to quickly assist athletes and respond to any injuries. Their presence ensured players had access to proper care while competing.

In addition to the athletic trainers, information tents were set up near the fields, staffed by Playmaker Sports personnel who assisted teams and families with directions, questions, and tournament logistics. These tents helped keep communication clear and made it easier for participants to navigate the large tournament venue.

Winter Fest 2026 also featured an updated version of the Playmaker Sports Tournament App, which helped teams stay informed throughout the weekend. The app allowed participants to easily view live schedules, standings, brackets, and field maps, and it also provided real-time notifications for field changes or schedule updates. The improvements made it easier for coaches, players, and parents to stay connected with tournament information as games progressed. Another new feature allowed participants to take photos and share them in a public gallery on the event page.

Referees played a crucial role in the success of the event, managing the fast-paced schedule of more than 100 matches across the weekend. Playmaker Sports recognized the importance of their contribution by presenting each referee with a special edition blue and silver Playmaker Sports coin, designed as a commemorative item for the Winter Fest tournament.

The tournament experience extended beyond the field as well. Families and players were able to enjoy food and refreshments throughout the weekend thanks to on-site vendors. Tiki Ice served refreshing shaved ice desserts and drinks, which quickly became a favorite treat for players between matches. In addition, Deli Doctor food truck was on site providing a variety of food options from sandwiches, burgers, specialty fries and drinks for players, families, and spectators throughout the tournament weekend.

Winter Fest 2026 brought together a strong community of teams, coaches, referees, families, and staff who helped make the event a success. Playmaker Sports extends its appreciation to all participating teams, families, referees, athletic trainers, and staff members for contributing to such a memorable weekend of soccer.

As Playmaker Sports continues to grow its tournament series, events like Winter Fest showcase the organization’s commitment to providing competitive opportunities, professional event management, and a memorable experience for young athletes.

Playmaker Sports looks forward to welcoming teams back for the Summer Championship on August 1 & 2, 2026 in Moorpark and continuing to build events that bring the soccer community together.
